PROGRAMS: Safety First Bathing Program
Our Safety First Bathing Program is a non-profit service independently funded by and for the residents of the Saanich Peninsula. It is for individuals who may require assistance following surgery, a fall, a fracture or an illness, or who may be afraid of falling, or just having trouble getting in and out of a tub
Our purpose built tubs and trained professional staff are available
Monday – Friday, by appointment
Eligibility
This Program is open to the general public. Please note:
- only Day Long Program clients are eligible for transportation, others must arrange their own
- participants must be able to bear their own weight and pivot to transfer.
Cost
Bathing is $10.00. Shampoo and set is $3.50.

- Designed for safe and easy access
- Available to all age groups
- Located in a “home-like” atmosphere
- Donated by Community Groups & Organizations
We offer:
- Assistance with bathing & personal care (tub bath, shampoo, blow dry, & nail care)
- Supervision & physical assessment by a Registered Nurse
- Individualized Care by a certified Care Attendant
- Minor treatments & dressings for skin & scalp with participant’s own supplies
- Referral to Physician or appropriate Health Care Professional as required
